There are very good chapters, but then...
Não Recomendo
...the author seems to want to fill in the pages with a flurry of unnecessary details that are super boring to follow. The author gives too much importance to petty stuff when the relevant is the idea behind which can be used way and beyond baseball. The chapter about Billy James, who pionereed research involving baseball stats, was very interesting and itself is a lesson about going forward even though there is no adequate feedback for your work. On the other hand some chapters describe minutely baseball aspects, events and decisions. Relevant idea: intuition can fool even so-called experts. Billy Beane, played by Brad Pitt in the movie, exploits that market failure with the help of na enhanced version of Billy James ideas with the help of Paul DePodesta. Bonus: it is sad to realize just how much humanity spends annually with baseball, football, soccer, whatever. Fans are much more into watching than playing the real thing live outside. The A-teams, described by Lewis as a low budget team, spent fantastic sums on the players. It sounded not much because most teams spent even more. I recommend on the topic "The Invisible Gorilla" (it will blow your mind), which features a list of cognitive illusions. Hope I helped :).
